About Maja DuBrul Maja DuBrul is an exclusive brand of one-of-a-kind jewelry defined by quality, extraordinary materials and iconoclastic design; it reflects the sensibilities of its co-founder and designer, Maja DuBrul. Maja has always been fascinated by the ability of jewelry to connect generations of a family together, to hold special meanings for the wearer, to be identified with its owner. Frustrated by the current schisms in the world of fine jewelry between crafty pieces on the one hand and commercial jewelry on the other, Maja established her brand that is elegant, individual, wearable and of extraordinary quality. The jewelry is designed for all ages and has a wide price spread. Inspiration comes from the traditions of Cartier, Verdura, Seaman Schepps as well as the history of Modernism. Color, size and quality of gems and particularly pearls are the focus of her designs. Maja began her career as an art historian at Columbia University where she received her Masters and MPhil specializing in Renaissance art. She launched Maja DuBrul jewelry in November 2005 and opened her first boutique in June 2008 in Aspen, Colorado. Her store in Aspen is designed to have a warm and inviting living room atmosphere to stop in with ski boots or an evening dress. It is a place to enjoy seeing oneself in a new way and learn about great gems and great design. The jewelry and store celebrate the eccentricities that make great art and great women. Born in Austria Maja, was raised in the museums and auction houses of Europe and New York. She currently lives with her family in New York City.
